Unlike the past five seasons, Danny Reidy in the 2008/09 season will not be contesting the entire World Series Sprintcar Championship, instead, opting to pick and choose his events.

Another change in the Queensland based Reidy Racing camp is that they have switched brands of chassis’ from Eagle to the J&J brand, and they also have at their disposal an array of the latest 410ci engines from Don Ott in America and Baines Race Engines in South Australia.

This Saturday night (October 11) at Brisbane International Speedway in Queensland for the second round of the Comp Cam Series Reidy is set to make his 2008/09 season and this will be the start a busy schedule that is to see him tackle all the major shows which is to include selected rounds of World Series, along with the Australian Title at the Perth Motorplex, Grand Annual Classic, Kings Challenge, and a host of others.

With no pressure of chasing the points in the World Series Championship this season, Reidy is just chasing outright feature race wins, and he feels that he is in a better frame of mind heading into the season because of this.

“The pressure of chasing a point score certainly plays on your mind, especially with the time and financial costs behind chasing the entire World Series Championship, so this season I’m really excited about, as there is no pressure to chase up points just wins,” Reidy said.

“My schedule for this season is pretty much going to based on the East Coast of Australia, where we will be seen at selected rounds of World Series Championship, and any other events that we can fit into our schedule throughout the season.”
