November 17 2008 - Mechanical Woes Dog Reidy at TPCR WSS Round |

A faulty MSD box unfortunately put Danny Reidy on the back foot from the get go during the second round of the World Series Sprintcar (WSS) Championship last Saturday night at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway.
In only his third appearance of the 2008/09 season Reidy, driving the # 5 Desert Palms Resort supported J&J, struggled during both hot lap and qualifying sessions with a misfire that was traced back to a dodgy MSD box. As a result of this problem Reidy recorded the slowest time trial lap of the field in 52nd and was forced to start both of his heat races from the rear of the field.
“Our night was basically ruined after our failure to record a decent time trial lap,” explained Reidy. “With the way the TPCR track was there were limited opportunities to move forward in both of our heat races so therefore we had to attempt to qualify for the feature race starting from the D-main.”
Reidy took out victory in the D-main, over an 8-lap distance, in convincing fashion to win a spot in the C-main. In the C-main the best he could do was work his way up to eighth place which was not good enough for a transfer.
With the TPCR problems now out of the way Reidy is now turning his attention to this Saturday night’s (November 22) activities at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway down in Victoria for the third round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Super Sprint Series.
“The aim for this season is to pick and choose our shows this season. I am looking forward to getting some valuable track time down at Premier Speedway in preparation for the big shows down there such as the WSS round and Grand Annual Classic,” added Reidy.
