December 15 2008 - Good Speed = No Result |

Despite being one of the fastest cars out on the track last Saturday night during the latest round of the Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway (TPCR) Sprintcar Track Championship Danny Reidy was disappointingly unable to convert that into a feature race result.
The tricky and difficult TPCR track conditions played against Reidy throughout the 30-lap feature race and it resulted in him finding the outside tyre wall on the back straight on the 24th lap. At one stage during the feature race Reidy, who had started out of position six in the field, was as high as sixth place before some off track excursions put him down the order and eventually resulted in him failing to finish.
“I had plenty of speed during the feature race but there were also a few obstacles that didn’t work in my favour. The dusty track conditions made it hard to pick your race line and there were a few occasions where I had to check up because of slower cars sliding into your path, so that made building up momentum difficult,” explained Reidy. “It was disappointing to end the feature race the way we did. On the positive side of things we showed plenty of speed and I felt that we were fast enough for at least a top five result. I can take lots of confidence from the whole night.”
Reidy started his night off in strong fashion after he qualified seventh in time trials and then took out a commanding win in his heat race after he had started from position five in the field.
TPCR hasn’t been the best of hunting grounds for Reidy in his past visits, mainly due to his lack of experience around the track, but his performance last Saturday night showed that he has the ability to mix it with the best of the locals when he arrives in town.
Reidy and his # 5 Desert Palms Resort supported J&J will travel back down to Victoria for the third round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Super Sprint Series this Saturday night (December 20) at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway. This round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Super Sprint Series is the make-up round for the cancelled one late last month due to wet weather.
