December 22 2008 - Season Best Result for Reidy |

It might not have been the outcome that he was hoping for but Danny Reidy was still pleased with his consistent run last Saturday night at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway during the latest round of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Super Sprint Series that resulted in him placing fifth in the feature race.
In what was his best feature race result of the season thus far, Reidy, who started from position eight in the field, had an overall consistent night after he had qualified 12th in time trials and finished his two heat races in third and fourth respectively.
Throughout the feature race Reidy was involved in some tense battles for track positions as he worked his way forward and consequently at times preventing him from building up momentum in order to move his way closer to the front of the field.
“All in all, it was a good night and pleasing to come away with a consistent night without any dramas,” Reidy said. “In the feature race we didn’t quite get the setup right and that along with starting further down the order than we would have liked prevented us from a better outcome to the night.”
Reidy’s attention now turns to the Speedweek Series, which runs as part of the World Series Sprintcar (WSS) Championship, and starts on Boxing Night and goes right through to New Year’s night across both Victorian and South Australian tracks. Boxing Night (December 26) is at Speedway City in SA and kicks off the Speedweek Series, followed by December 27 at Murray Bridge Speedway in SA, December 28 at Borderline Speedway in SA, December 30 at Avalon Raceway in VIC and the final round on January 1 at Premier Speedway in VIC.
“I always enjoy Speedweek as it’s a lot of fun and it is also a very busy time for all the teams,” he commented. “With our team not running the entire WSS Championship this season I am taking in a new approach where I will be aiming for podium results and the good thing about that is that I don’t have to worry about points towards the championship. That means I can push a little bit harder and take a few more risks.”
