January 12 2009 - Reidy is down but not out in 2008/09 Season |

Danny Reidy has made no secret about his disappointment in regards to how his 2008/09 season has panned out thus far, but as someone once said; that with every dark cloud there is a silver lining and the ‘Rock Star’ is hoping that that phrase will come to fruition sooner rather than later.
So far in the 2008/09 season the only real highlight has been a top five feature race result during the Eureka Garages and Sheds Super Sprint Series round at Warrnambool’s Premier Speedway down in Victoria last month and that is something that doesn’t sit too well with Reidy.
“When the chips are down, they are down, and all you can do it fight on,” remarked Reidy. “I haven’t made the best starts to the season and to be honest it is really starting to wear my confidence levels down a bit. I know we will overcome this run of bad luck it’s just a matter of when it will actually all happen. At the moment things are very frustrating but that is just sometimes the nature of our chosen sport.”
Over the weekend Reidy contested the Queensland leg of the World Series Sprintcar (WSS) Championship and last night (Sunday, January 11) at Toowoomba’s Charlton Raceway he finished the feature race in 12th, and the night before (Saturday, January 10) at Brisbane International Speedway (BIS) for the Australian Open he was on a charge during the B-main only to suffer a flat tyre and retire while placed in third. Reidy’s heat race and qualifying results on the preliminary night of the Australian Open on Friday night at BIS were not enough to qualify him into the 16 car field preliminary feature race. Last Wednesday night (January 7) at BIS for the rescheduled opening round of the WSS Championship Reidy qualified directly into the feature race and finished well down the order in a disappointing 16th.
This Friday and Saturday night (January 16 and 17) Reidy is to make the trek down to Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway (TPCR) in Sydney NSW for the final rounds of the WSS Championship for the 2008/09 season.
