March 2 2009 - Change of Fortune Brings Podium Result for Reidy at Krikke Boys Shootout |

A third place in last weekend’s Krikke Boys Shootout at Bunbury City Speedway over in Western Australia has brought much delight to Danny Reidy as it was his first podium finish of the 2008/09 season.
The past two weekends, Kings of Wings at the Perth Motorplex and Krikke Boys Shootout, has seen Reidy hit form and it has certainly brought some relief to the entire Reidy Racing team.
“I hadn’t been on the podium for that long I almost forgot what it felt like to be on it [the podium],” joked Reidy. “In all seriousness it’s great to finally finish on the podium and it does the world of good for not only my confidence but my entire hard working team.”
After starting the feature race on the second and final night of the Krikke Boys Shootout from position three Reidy, aboard his # 5 NT Desert Palms Resort supported J&J, kept it all together to finish in third place on the podium behind winner Robbie Farr and American Paul McMahan.
Reidy earlier in the weekend qualified 12th in time trials before going on to win both his heat race and Dash B. Due to winning Dash B Reidy started the preliminary feature race from position two and blasted to the lead from the outset. Reidy built up a comfortable lead over the field in the 20 lap feature race only to make a mistake in the closing stages and spin out after getting caught up in the loose part of the track. Reidy kept his car under power during his spin and re-joined the track and ended up finishing back in fifth place.
The second and final night Reidy finished second in both his heat race and Dash A and started the feature race from position three and that was where he stayed all the way until the finish.
Reidy’s podium result at the Krikke Boys Shootout has certainly lifted his confidence and he will be one to look out for during the remaining shows of the 2008/09 season.
This Wednesday night (March 4) Reidy plans to contest the $10,000 to win show at Kalgoorlie Speedway before maybe heading to Dubbo’s Morris Park Speedway in Western NSW for the fourth round of the Thunder through the Plains Series on Saturday night (March 7).
