A succession of podium finishes over the three nights of the Easter Sprintcar Trail has resulted in Danny Reidy ending up second overall in the final point standings.

The former Easter Trail Series winner and multiple podium finisher in recent seasons, Reidy finished third at both the Avalon Raceway and Borderline Speedway rounds and then capped off the weekend by placing second at the third and final at Premier Speedway.

Despite the consistency of three podium results from as many rounds over the Easter Trail weekend, Reidy finished a narrow second behind winner Steve Lines in the final point standings.

“I needed [Steve] Lines to finish a few more spots back in the feature race at the final round but that didn’t happen and I ended up second which is still a pleasing result,” expressed Reidy, who finished a hard charging second at the final round behind Ryan Farrell. “In recent seasons I’ve had a really good run at the Easter Trail for some reason and last weekend’s results sees us continue our strong run of recent form and hopefully we can continue that right up to the Australian Title in May.”

Reidy’s speed throughout the weekend aboard his NT # 5 Desert Palms Resort / Titan Plant Hire supported J&J was more evident, aside from his successive podium feature race results, after he demolished Robbie Farr’s 10 lap track record at Borderline Speedway and then came close to breaking the 10 lap track record at Premier Speedway the following night.

This Saturday night (April 10) Reidy will contest the NSW Title that is to be held at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway.

“We finished second the last time we were at Parramatta, so it’d be good to go one better at this weekend’s NSW Title,” added Reidy.
