April 19 2010 - Crash Ruins Reidy’s Podium Streak

On track for his sixth podium finish in succession, Danny Reidy had his run spoiled last Saturday night due to a crash during the eighth round of the Queensland Speedway Spares (QSS) Sprintcar Series at Brisbane International Speedway (BIS).

Reidy had finished his past five race meetings on the podium and last Saturday night he had started the feature race from position three and looked set to add to that tally. After a complete restart Reidy was involved in someone else’s incident and that resulted in his NT # 5 Desert Palms Resort / Titan Plant Hire backed J&J sustaining race ending damage.

“When the crash happened I went to the top of the track to avoid it, but once I was committed a car appeared and I had absolutely nowhere to go and crashed into them,” Reidy explained. “Heading into the feature race I felt confident that we could have finished on the podium once again as we were strong in our heat races, but then the crash happened and ended our hopes there and then.”

Earlier in the night, Reidy had shown strong speed throughout his two heat races by finishing in third and second place.

Reidy will this Saturday night (April 24) return to BIS to contest the ninth round of the QSS Series.

Reidy would like to thank Desert Palms Resort in Alice Springs, Titan Plant Hire, Baines Engines, Gonzo Racing Pipes, Camden Neon Signs and P&M Motor Body Repairs for all their support throughout the 2009/10 season.
