May 10 2010 - Reidy Bags Maiden 09/10 Season Victory:

It was a case of better late than never for Danny Reidy after he picked up his maiden feature race victory of the 2009/10 season. This all took place for Reidy during the 10th round of the Queensland Speedway Spares (QSS) Sprintcar Series at Brisbane International Speedway (BIS) over the weekend.

Just a week after narrowly missing out on winning the Queensland Title, Reidy returned to the BIS track in what was his final hit out before the Australian Title later this month and he couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome to the night.

Reidy, aboard his NT # 5 Titan Plant Hire / Desert Palms Resort supported J&J, started the feature race from outside the front row, after finishing second to Darrell Hodges in the Dash, and from there he lead the field from start to finish to record a comfortable victory.

“We’ve been right up there this season, but we’ve just haven’t been able to break through for the win and this time around it all came together,” said Reidy, who had earlier in the night recorded the fifth fastest lap in time trials and then went on to finish fourth in both of his heat races. “We had a little bit of trouble with some lapped traffic, but that is sometimes to be expected around a bull ring track like BIS. However, it didn’t end up hurting us too much and I still managed a comfortable win.”

Reidy’s breakthrough victory for the 2009/10 season was dedicated to the entire Reidy Racing team.

“Our team is a small one but we work very well as a unit and it’s great to finally be able to reward them with a victory for all their efforts,” he expressed. “A lot of time and effort goes into taking a team out on the road chasing all the major race meetings around Australia and I honestly couldn’t possibly do it without them.”

The next event for Reidy is going to be the 2010 Australian Sprintcar Title that is to be held up at Darwin’s Northline Speedway in the Northern Territory from May 27 through to 29.

“I’m very much looking forward to getting back to the Northern Territory, as that is the state where I grew up,” Reidy said. “I’m certainly not going to be leaving anything in the tank as I chase a strong Australian Title result and the aim is to finish somewhere on the podium.”

Reidy would like to thank Desert Palms Resort in Alice Springs, Titan Plant Hire, Baines Engines, Gonzo Racing Pipes, Camden Neon Signs and P&M Motor Body Repairs for all their support throughout the 2009/10 season.
